Tragedy Strikes Milestone School: Air Force Jet Crash Claims Lives

On July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, around 1:06 pm, triggering a massive fire. The tragic incident, caused by a technical malfunction, claimed at least 27 lives, including 25 children and the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Md. Toukir Islam . Over 170 people, mostly students, were injured and are receiving treatment for burns and other injuries at hospitals like the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Rescue operations were promptly launched, involving the Fire Service, Army, and Border Guard Bangladesh. The nation observes a day of mourning on July 22, with an investigation underway to determine the cause of this devastating crash.
